Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound, a phytoalexin produced by itself when the plant is in harsh environments or invaded by pathogens .Studies have shown that Resveratrol has the function of anti-inflammatory、antioxidant、anti-atherosclerosis、estrogenic、immune modulation and many Other biological functions，and plays an important and powerful anti-tumor role in three stages of tumors.
1) Inhibit cytochrome enzymes: Cytochrome P450 can make some carcinogens such as BAP into highly mutagenic derivatives and release free radicals through oxidation, resulting in oxidative DNA damage. Resveratrol is an inhibitor of cytochrome P450 and can prevent this process from occurring.
2) Can induce the detoxification function of glutathione-s-transferase enzyme, uracil-acid and gluconic acid transferase, decomposing the carcinogens.
3) Inhibit cyclooxygenase (Cox): Resveratrol can inhibit the expression of cox by blocking the activation of nuclear transcription factor NF-KB, thus inhibiting cyclooxygenase activity.
4)Inhibition of protein kinase activity: Protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) can activate the end phosphoric acid of ATP and lead the yrosine residues phosphorylation of substrate proteins, this process plays an important role in the transmission of information of tumor gene expression, many cancer cells were found to have a certain kind of PTK activated or overexpressed .Resveratrol can inhibit the PKC activity through non-competitive combination mechanism so as to achieve the anti-tumor effect.
